2nd Chess Lions Open - September

View Tournament Standings
Our second Chess Lions Open marked a significant milestone! We introduced two new unrated sections to accommodate beginners, making chess more accessible to newcomers. Most notably, we welcomed our first 2000+ rated player to the Open section, elevating the competitive standard and bringing elite-level chess to our community.

Chess can be a powerful force for social good, especially as a fundraiser for youth-focused initiatives. Through our tournament, we raised over $600 to the Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps, supporting the development of young leaders in our local community.

1st Windsor Open (at Riverside Library)

View Tournament Standings
The Windsor region lacked OPEN CFC-rated tournaments for players of all levels. Most events were CYCC qualifiers, limiting participation, as adults couldn't compete and many stronger players stopped playing after qualifying. We introduced this tournament as a game changer, creating an inclusive, competitive event--and it was a resounding success.
